Salary: SO1/2, i.e. £26,470–£30,756, subject to Job Evaluation

*Consideration will be given to applicants who may wish to work part time (2 to 3 days per week).
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council's Building Control team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward thinking individual, to carry out Building Control duties including; plan checking, site inspections, enforcement and other building surveying duties when necessary. Based at Queen's Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, you will play a key role in our future success. You will also be involved in the development and implementation of digital services. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structure call out rota system.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required along with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction matters, the Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Among other qualities, you will have:
- BSc in Building Surveying or relevant equivalent qualification
- Membership of RICS or CABE
- Experience of working with Dangerous Structures and Demolitions
- Full current driving licence
- Good standard of computer literacy
Consideration may be given to candidates who are part qualified, completed their academic studies and have relevant experience.
The benefits of the above post include 24 days annual leave, rising to 29 after 5 years' service, in addition to bank holidays, an extra day over the Christmas period and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
