Salary: £22,546 - £34,467 (Band 5 to 7 career grade)

Location: Appletree Court, Lyndhurst
New Forest District Council Building and Coastal Services are seeking an experienced surveyor to join our Building Control team. We are looking for someone who is proactive, enthusiastic and driven to provide our customers with a first class service.
The Building Control service is currently going through a period of change, and the successful candidate would be instrumental in helping the team deliver the changes required. You must be forward thinking, able to engage and develop relationships with our customers, and be able to undertake all aspects of the building control process, which includes, plan vetting, site inspections, enforcement and inspecting dangerous structures.
Good IT skills, accurate record keeping and effective communication skills are essential requirements. You will be required to liaise with members of the public or their agents, so will need to be comfortable working away from the office and confident when dealing with customers. You will be working in a flexible office environment, with the chance to work from home, as the Council develops it's smarter working technology and so will need to have good organisational and administrative skills and an ability to use computers for recording and retrieving information.
To apply for this post you must have attained a relevant professional qualification and appropriate post qualification experience with any specialism training in the discipline being an advantage. Membership of the RICS, CABE or equivalent is essential. The starting salary will be determined by qualifications and experience. You will be required to join the out of hour's rota for dangerous structures call out for which a monthly payment is made. A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is also essential for business purposes.
