Senior/Building Control Surveyor

Package up to £60k per annum plus benefits

The London Borough of Barnet is an ambitious authority with one of the most significant programs of growth in the region. Depending on your qualifications and experiences, we are looking for either a senior or building control surveyor to help us to deliver a high quality Building Control service, if you are pro-active and enthusiastic, then you should apply. This is a full time position.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven recent track record and have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Building Control and allied legislation with excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be able to plan and coordinate a wide range of short, medium and long term tasks.

The main responsibilities of the post will be plan vetting and site inspections of building work in relation to all types of buildings but in particular high risk complex buildings, enforcement, dangerous structures and demolitions. Good IT skills, accurate record keeping and effective communication skills are essential requirements. A full, clean driving license and use of a car is also essential for business purposes.

All activities will be delivered in accordance with the Building Control Performance Standards 2017 and an LABC accredited Quality Management System.

Principal Building Control Officer

£26,470 - £30,756 per annum

Home Improvement Agency Surveyor (Req no. 001428)

Oxford City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to help deliver a wide range of disabled adaptations and housing solutions for older people, disabled adults and disabled children.

The post holder will be responsible for providing advice on adaptations, designing and specifying solutions, commissioning work, monitoring quality of work and providing technical advice to other professionals such as Case Workers and Occupational Therapists. You will also manage your own caseload and work independently utilising best practice and technical knowledge to meet the demands of service users. The ability to be creative and solve problems on the spot is essential as this skill will be required daily

This is a fixed term contract until 31/03/2019 in the first instance, with a possibility to extend to 31/03/2020.

Senior Building Control Surveyor

Dependent on experience, Salary: £40,590 – £43,696 per annum (rising to £44,510 per annum after 5 years continuous service). This salary is inclusive of £857 Inner Fringe per annum and includes a Market Supplement of £7,500.

Full-time: 36 hours per week

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven recent track record and have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Building Control and allied legislation. The post holder will be responsible for providing building control services across a geographical area within the district and as a member of a team within Epping Forest District Council. You must be committed to a high level of customer service. In addition, you will be required to develop and maintain a strong portfolio of partnerships within the LABC approved scheme.

The main responsibilities of the post will be plan vetting, site inspections of building work, enforcement, dangerous structures and demolitions. Good IT skills, accurate record keeping and effective communication skills are essential requirements. A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is also essential for business purposes.
