LABC Charity of the Year 2026
Prostate Cancer UK is striving for a world where no man dies from prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with one in eight developing the disease in their lifetime. This risk doubles to 1 in four if you are Black, and you are also at a higher risk if you are over 50, or have a family history of the disease.
Prostate Cancer UK works to give every man the power to navigate it, by raising awareness, funding lifesaving research, campaigning for change and providing helpful support and information. This all helps you to understand your risk, make the right choices about treatment and access the expertise you need to feel informed and in control
They've already invested over £100 million into the best researchers in the world to unravel the complexity of prostate cancer, so they can give men precise and personalised care with the right treatments at the right time, for the best chance of living the full life they want. Their research has driven some of the biggest breakthroughs in prostate cancer, from more accurate diagnoses, thanks to multiparametric MRI, to the world’s first precision medicine for prostate cancer.
The advances in testing, funded by our supporters, are blazing a trail towards a screening programme. Soon, every man at risk of prostate cancer could be invited for regular, accurate tests that can catch cancer early enough for a cure, saving thousands of our dads, partners, brothers and friends every year.
They also help men understand their level of risk of prostate cancer, fund wellbeing hubs, advice services with specialist nurses, helplines and support groups. And all this support is offered nationwide.
Everything they do is made possible by your generosity and support.
