LABC is the membership organisation that works on behalf of local authorities, providing the voice of public service building control to various government departments and industry partners.

LABC provides public sector building control with technical guidance, accredited education, performance standards and validation assessments for our 3,000 surveyors and technicians working for local authorities across England and Wales. 

Following successful recruitment of over 200 trainees, LABC is recrutiing more Trainee Building Inspectors in multiple locations across England.

The LABC Academy Trainee Building Inspector programme provides the perfect opportunity to earn while you learn. During the two-year programme you’ll gain a level 4 and level 5 diploma in building control surveying and learn the skills and experience required to become a Registered Building Inspector.

Our new recruits will be technically minded, like problem solving, keen to learn and looking for a really rewarding public service career, not just a job! 

We'll take care of all your education and training needs as well as employing you to work in a local authority near to where you live. You'll be supported by the team at LABC and be mentored by experienced professionals who'll take care of your practical on the job training. 

On completion of the two year programme you’ll be well on your way towards becoming a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor or Building Engineer, someone who makes a real difference to the built environment and everyone who lives, works and thrives in our buildings.
