VIDEO: Thinking about a career in building control?

News
LABC building control surveyors

Local Authority Building Control (LABC) has recently launched a fully funded trainee scheme for Trainee Building Control Surveyors in England.

The capacity building programme will see more than 100 people recruited into the building control profession with a three-year fully funded learning and development plan.

LABC is looking for individuals from a range of backgrounds including school/college leavers, ex-trade, ex-military and those looking for a career change from disciplines with transferable skills.

Trainee Building Control Surveyor’s will undertake LABC’s award winning Level 4 and 5 Diplomas in Building Control and the associated competence validations during the three-year programme. That, coupled with on-the-job experience in a local authority placement will give them the opportunity to become a registered building control surveyor and work on a variety of projects as they progress through the development programme.

If you’ve got an appetite for learning and are looking for a rewarding and varied career with a clear route for progression – building control could be for you.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2023: Candidates applying for LABC Academy positions from September 2023 onwards will be on a two-year fully funded learning and development plan.
