LABC Building Excellence Awards 2025 winner: Construction Specialist of the Year

LABC is delighted to announce that the WINNER of the Construction Specialist of the Year is Damian Gray, St Edward Homes Ltd.

Damian Gray is an award-winning Project Manager at St Edward Homes Ltd, recognised nationally for his leadership in health and safety, sustainability, and build quality. He has played a vital role in delivering multiple phases of the Hartland Village development, from the iconic bridge in Phase 1 to the introduction of all-electric homes in Phase 3. Damian’s technical expertise and commitment to innovation have driven industry-leading solutions, including the integration of air-source heat pumps and electric infrastructure, while fostering strong community engagement and exceptional customer satisfaction scores. His attention to detail and ability to align delivery with the project brief have set a benchmark for excellence.

Damian works closely with the Hart & Rushmoor Building Control Partnership to navigate complex challenges, including hybrid construction methods combining RC frames with traditional builds. Through regular communication, joint reviews, and transparent documentation, Damian has ensured building regulation compliance without compromising design intent. His collaborative approach enables timely approvals and smooth progression through key stages, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and technical proficiency.

The judges praised Damian for exemplifying modern construction leadership, describing him as,

“leading with integrity, accountability and innovation, demonstrating how great construction is built not only on quality and compliance, but on partnership and purpose.” 

A range of categories celebrated on the night highlight the diverse portfolio of projects delivered within the industry alongside the project teams that are committed to delivering compliant and high-quality buildings for our communities.
