Learning at Work Week – Professional Development with LABC

LABC recognised this year’s Learning at Work Week with a successful programme of training, qualifications and continuous professional development (CPD) for building control members and professionals across the industry. 

Throughout the week, LABC delivered seven separate courses and workshops designed to support learners and professionals at all stages of their careers, from those progressing through formal qualifications to experienced industry colleagues enhancing their technical knowledge and regulatory understanding. 

LABC is committed to helping professionals keep abreast of industry changes and gain confidence in their roles through the delivery of a suite of award-winning qualifications and Competence Specific Learning (CSL). The week saw hundreds of learners attend LABC courses, reflecting the industry’s ongoing commitment to education, competence, compliance and continuous professional growth. Covering a wide range of subjects, including fire safety, building regulations inspections, technical support and regulatory updates, the programme highlighted the importance of accessible, high-quality training in an evolving industry landscape. 

Here’s a look back at the courses delivered during #LearningAtWorkWeek 

Monday 18 May  The Initial Notices for Technical Support myLABC workshop welcomed over 50 delegates, providing practical guidance and technical insight into the use and management of Initial Notices within the building control process.  
Tuesday 19 May Level 5 Diploma in Building Control Surveying Cohort 15 brought together over 40 students continuing their qualification journey and developing the knowledge and skills needed to progress within the profession.  
Wednesday 20 May

Recent Changes to Regulations and Your Role attracted over 50 attendees keen to stay up to date with the latest regulatory developments and industry responsibilities.  

The Building Regulation Fire Safety Fundamentals CPD course welcomed over 60 professionals looking to strengthen their understanding of fire safety principles, compliance and best practice

Thursday 21 May 

Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying Cohort 11/12 saw over 80 students take part in one of the largest sessions of the week as they continued their qualification journey with LABC.  

The Building Regulations Inspection CPD course welcomed over 30 attendees focused on inspection standards, compliance and practical application within building control.  

Friday 22 May  The week concluded with Level 6 Safety at Sports Grounds and Other Public Events Cohort 5, attended by over 30 students gaining  specialist skills and knowledge to regulate sports ground safety.
