LABC West Midlands Building Excellence Awards 2018
250 representatives from all corners of the construction industry and local authority building control gathered at the 2018 LABC West Midlands Excellence Awards took place on Friday 8 June 2018 at the Telford International Centre.
What were they there for? Simply, to celebrate technical and construction excellence, and effective working relationships.
This year's event was hosted by LABC's Head of Network Change and Transformation, Richard Scott and winning projects included a stunning 'barn' wedding venue in Alveley and the new National College for High Speed Rail in Birmingham built to train apprentices on the HS2 railway.
More than £6,000 was raised for LABC President Chris Griffith-Jones' chosen charity, the Oracle Cancer Trust.
Representatives from LABC sponsors Abbey Pynford, Actis, FMB, Home&Build, Jewson, LABC Acoustics, LABC Warranty, Polypipe Terrain and Swiftclean presented trophies and certificates to the 15 winning and 4 highly commended projects and individuals. The winners will be going to the Grand Finals, being held on Friday 9 November at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.
LABC's Chief Executive Paul Everall said, "The awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate some of the very best in construction in England and Wales, recognising the high level of quality and skill we can and do reach in the UK."
