The English government has announced funding to bring in hundreds of new registered building inspectors into the sector.

Lorna Stimpson, chief executive of LABC, said: “This funding will be transformational for building control; it will make a major difference to capacity in the sector and supports the government’s ambitious plans to deliver new housing.

Lorna added: “boosting skills and capacity in building control is vital to delivering the compliant, high quality, energy efficient homes that we need.”

LABC represents a network of around 3,000 public sector technical surveyors and support staff, providing education, guidance, and recruitment support.
