HSE announces new Chief Inspector of Buildings

LABC welcomes the news that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has appointed Peter Baker as the new Chief Inspector of Buildings, to establish and lead the new Building Safety Regulator.

Currently working as HSE’s Director of Building Safety and Construction, Peter will take up the new role with immediate effect.

LABC’s Chief Executive Lorna Stimpson says "I’ve worked with Peter on the Joint Regulators Group for over two years and I am delighted to hear of Peter’s appointment to this post. I and my colleagues in LABC and across public service building control, look forward to continuing to work with Peter and his team to shape the future building safety regime."
