A large leisure centre which replaced a 1970s sports centre on the same site. With a design that incorporated a striking aluminium and copper facade, the building is as inclusive and energy efficient as possible, with a BREEAM Excellent rating achieved. |

Partial demolition and refurbishment of the existing Grade II building and new entrance lobby, education centre and alterations. Emergency lighting and sprinkler system improvements were made, and new pressurised areas installed to allow the safe exit of disabled visitors. |

The largest log building in the UK, the Pine Lake camp and training centre is based on a fishing lodge in Alaska. A self build by the charity Foundation Matters, pre-application meetings took place between them and the council building control team six years before it was completed, carrying on throughout the length of the project. |

Demolition and redevelopment of old hotel with 81 rooms and 49 apartments, plus associated underground car parking. Fire protection and means of escape were discussed at the building control team's pre-application meetings and the client had numerous conversations and meetings throughout the process to deliver the finished product on time and within budget. The team were praised for their proactive approach and availability. |
