The awards, held in the the most complete medieval friary complex surviving in England, saw 13 winners and five highly commended receive trophies and certificates – see the full list of award winners here.
Winning projects included Wells Maltings Theatre, Anglia Ruskin School of Medicine and Abcam, Addenbrookes Bio Medical campus in Cambridge.
Over £1,800 was raised for We Build the Future, LABC President Dave Sharp's chosen charity. We Build the Future work with the construction and built environment sector to help raise funds to beat cancer and support affected industry workers.
The awards night was hosted by BBC presenter of Inside Out - East David Whiteley.
"These awards are different. They aren’t about good looks or fancy design (although many winners incorporate both). They are about quality and standards. No other building awards look at how well buildings are put together from start to finish and the skills and competencies of those who design and construct them. We are very proud of everyone involved – they show the way ahead for the industry."Paul Everall CBE, Chief Executive at LABC
