RICS publishes Guide To Fire Safety for the public

Smoke against a dark background

RICS have published a "clear, impartial" fire safety guide to highlight landlords' and tenants' responsibilities in keeping properties safe no matter what type of home they live in.

RICS believes a basic understanding of fire safety for all can reduce number of fire-related fatalities. This short, easy-to-follow guide covers houses, apartments, flats and maisonettes for both landlords and the general public.

The guide has been written by RICS Chartered Building Surveyors and a multi-discipline advisory group who work with fire safety design and regulation on a daily basis. The aim is to spread awareness of good fire safety practice, understanding the risks and looking at ways to minimise and manage fire safety measures.
