LABC’s Quality Management System (QMS) has achieved near 100% coverage of public service building control teams. Now with such a wide adoption LABC is to switch from Alcumus ISOQAR to BSI to provide third party certification of its QMS.
The switch allows LABC to benefit from BSI’s larger organisation, resources and experience of the sector. It also provides synergy with other parts of BSI dealing with the competency of building surveyors. The switch is expected to take place in June 2022.
Commenting Lorna Stimpson, LABC Chief Executive, said,
LABC is celebrating its largest ever cohort of learners in its drive to transform public service building control, supported by its network of 3,500 surveyors and technical staff.
Since the end of 2019, more than 2,000 LABC members have signed up for subsidised education courses at levels 3, 4, 5 or 6. Over the next three years, hundreds more will take education courses and have their competence validated to meet the requirements of the new building safety regime.
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of David Smith MBE on 6th June 2022.
